Few things you should know about catering companies

adtcatering-03Starting a new catering company is not an easy task, but if you put your mind on it, it is doable. If you are starting your own catering business, there are few things you should consider.

The first one is your cuisine. When we are talking about catering business, cuisine is probably the most important thing. You can have excellent service, great concept, you can be 100% professional, but if your food is not good you will not make it on the market. There are many catering companies on the market. Some of them are better than others. Every day there are new catering companies starting with work, and the old one are closing. Competition is very strong, and if you want to make it, you must have great, fresh and tasty food. Before you start your company you should make a decision. Would you like to open catering company for all events with all kinds of food, or maybe you would like to make more specialized company with special food for special events. Because of the big and strong competition quality standards are very high. In the past few years many catering companies that worked all kinds of events, became more specialized for one or two type of food. If you have in your offer sea food, maybe you should stay with that, and don’t offer meat food. Before you start your catering company one more thing you should be aware is your capacity. The golden rule of catering business is never take more than you can handle. If you  have capacity to make food and serve 50 people, don’t take an event where will be more than 100 guests. One mistake is enough to close your business. If the client is not satisfied with you, if you promise more than you can deliver, word will go out, and everybody will heard. Your company name will be on the bad voice. If you are planning to start catering business stick with the food you know the best, with one you know how to prepare.

adtcatering-02The second thing you should consider is the chef. If you are planning to make food and run the business all by your self, don’t do it. It can be doable, but only for the short period of time. You will not have enough time to do both jobs in the same time. The biggest problem is the fact that you need to be 100% focus on both of these two jobs. If you are starting with catering company, always make plan to have someone who will make food for you. You can create food menu, but find someone to cook it while you are running all other things. Finding a good chef is a special task that will probably cost you time and nerves, but once you find the perfect person everything will go much smother.

Think about the price. Don’t overcharge it, but don’t go under reasonable price. If you want to run business successfully you must make a profit wit very event you do.
